ITWomen
ITWomen engages S.F.T.G. Associates for Executive Director services. ITWomen is a Miami-based grassroots nonprofit dedicated to the advancement of women in IT and technology and community outreach. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Program development
- Membership recruitment and retention
- Grant writing and grant oversight
- Fundraising and event planning
- Creating and maintaining Partnerships and Alliances
- Facilitating meetings
- Serving as ITWomen spokesperson to the community
- Representing ITWomen and participating on educational Advisory Boards
Program Development – Role Model Speakers
The Role Model Speakers program has served over 2,500 girls over the last three years. The ITWomen membership has grown from 10 members 4 years ago to over 280 members.
ITWomen has:
- applied for and received funding for 8 grants supporting the Role Model Speakers Program.
- successfully conducted 4 Gala Fundraisers, raising more than $104,000.
- created scholarships for 26 South Florida girls to pursue degrees in Information Technology.
- established partnerships with 10 nonprofit organizations that serve girls-at-risk from the ages of 8-18.
Each December there is a Board Retreat and Sherry Giordano facilitates this event. She has successfully represented ITWomen on Radio, Cable TV, Community forums and currently presides as the Chair of the Academy of Information Technology Advisory (AOIT) Board, Miami Dade County, and sit as a member of the Academy of Information Technology Advisory (AOIT) Board, Broward County and on the Miami Dade College CIS Advisory Board.
