Sherry Giordano

Sherry Giordano is a results-oriented senior executive with demonstrated experience in entrepreneurial, corporate global companies and nonprofit organizations. She is a driven personality with the rare ability to motivate individuals and organizations by focusing on tactical execution while supporting long-term strategic goals. She has a unique combination of “nonprofit expertise and passion” grounded in 30 years of proven corporate experience and expertise in the High Technology Industry.

Giordano excels at building market penetration strategies maximizing revenue and profits in emerging technologies and products. At Digital Equipment Corporation, she participated in “new” go-to-market initiatives and effectively worked cross-functional and partnership relationships. She played an integral role in many start-up businesses within Digital and managed local and national direct and partner sales organizations. She served as Digital’s Director of European Operations for Global Accounts, in Geneva, Switzerland. When Compaq acquired Digital Equipment Corporation, she was appointed to a leadership role in both the European and worldwide acquisition integration teams.

Giordano co-founded the management consulting firm of S.F.T.G. Associates Int’l. in 1999, following her career at Digital and serves as the firm’s CEO. S.F.T.G. Associates’ was hired by three Fortune 1000 companies to assist in the incubation process of new ventures. In 2001 a Fortune 500 company, MeadWestvaco, hired Giordano to assist in the company launch of a state-of-the-art Geospatial Intelligence software that was highly acclaimed for threat assessment and mitigation. She was instrumental in developing and implementing a market introduction strategy that launched the technology into the federal marketplace and successfully achieved product acceptance.

Giordano also brings extensive experience in fund raising and building not-for-profit organizations in a variety of venues.

In July of 2005, ITWomen appointed Giordano as its Executive Director. ITWomen is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement, advocacy, and development of aspiring and professional women in the field of technology. In this position she initiated and now manages the “ITWomen’s Role Model Speakers Program”. In addition she is responsible for securing and writing new grant opportunities, and has been instrumental in the growth of membership, corporate sponsorships and the expansion of the IT Women’s scholarship program in South Florida.

In the nonprofit sector, Giordano has represented agencies and organizations in both the United States and Europe, focusing on Program Development, Strategic Partnership & Alliance Relationships, Strategic Planning, Economic Development and Board Governance & Facilitation.

Giordano holds a Bachelors degree in Business from Stephens College, Columbia, MO and attended Oxford University, in England, her Junior year. She continued her education by completing courses in Marketing for Non-Profit Organizations at Radcliffe College, Cambridge, MA.

She is currently the Chair on the Miami Dade “Academy of Information Technology” (AOIT) Advisory Board, sits on the Broward AOIT Advisory Board, the Miami Dade College CSI Advisory Board and is a Forum Facilitator for The Commonwealth Institute. She also serves as the Past-Chair for the Business & Education Committee for the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce and sits on the Doral Golf Committee.
